The 2018 Merlot spent 24 months in 50% new French oak barrels before being bottled unfiltered and bottle-aged for three years. This Merlot offers a healthy freshness and juiciness as it presents oak spice, brown baking spices and a hint of dark fruit on the palate. While currently somewhat closed, it shows the potential to evolve with time, revealing layers of complexity and balanced, juicy oak flavors. This wine will benefit from additional aging and pair beautifully with food; just be patient with it. A total of 9,900 bottles were produced of this impressive Merlot. Published: May 10, 2024
