The 2000 possesses high acidity as well as noticeable tannin. The opaque purple-colored, full-bodied wine reveals sweet, mineral-infused, blackberry and cassis aromas and flavors, superb ripeness, fresh lively acidity that provides uplift as well as delineation, and a long, chewy, ripe, tannic finish. Although it will not be as approachable young, the 2000 should mature gracefully. It may have even greater longevity because of the high acid profile and elevated tannin level. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2025.
