While Elsa Gangloff was not available when I visited the Northern Rhône, I was able to acquire a bottle of the 2024 Condrieu. It wafts from the glass with a vibrant, pungent bouquet of exotic fruits, ripe orchard fruits and spices. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and concentrated, it is built around a lively, fleshy core of fruit that remains notably tense and energetic for Viognier, reflecting the style of the vintage. This is a stunning bottle.
My visit this year unfortunately coincided with Mathilde Gangloff’s holidays—no doubt well deserved—so I wasn’t able to taste at the domaine. To keep readers informed, I once again purchased bottles on the market.
