From a vineyard in the northern reaches of the Mornington Peninsula. It crops at 1 tonne per acre. It’s all de-stemmed, and it all goes into old 500 litre oak (by gravity). It’s bottled unfined, and unfiltered.
It’s a powerful wine and a complex one. We’re into high-minded territory here. Macerated cherries and plums, a slip of raspberry, autumn leaves and shots of spice. A subtle smokiness too, but blink and you miss it. It feels dry and tannic but the fruit and more savoury notes juice straight through the finish. Excellent.
