With 20 months in 30% new French oak barrels, the 2020 Optima showcases a blend of 34% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. It presents a bigger and fleshier profile compared to previous vintages yet maintains a tight structure. With firm tannins, the Optima showcases juicy and mouthwatering characteristics that will likely improve with a few years of bottle aging, but the wine can be enjoyed now. It reveals a revved-up, deliciously juicy experience that overdelivers for the price. A total of 570,000 bottles were produced. Published: May 10, 2024
