The Wine Advocate RP 93 The fruit for this 2021 Magical Animal is from a single vineyard in Porongurup (Great Southern). It was 100% wild fermented in barrel and bottled unfined and unfiltered. On the nose, there is cloth and fino, salted almonds and preserved citrus, with fresh curry leaves and abundant brine. I want to say sea spray, but if you know where Porongurup is, you'll know that's stretching a very long bow. There is salt and fruit skin, fur and hessian, but through it all, there is a steady pulse of acid and energy that binds all of the out-there characters to the mast. Life.
