The vines were planted in 1988 on decomposed shale and well-draining schist soils. This results in compact bunches and beautiful flavor concentration with dried peach and apricot. Winemaking sees a combination of stainless steel and 500-liter barrel with 9% new oak. The wine spends seven months on the lees, and 10% partial malolactic fermentation was allowed. The lees are kept in suspension with regular bâtonnage. The wine has a second layer that comes across with vanilla and pastry cream.
